Chris:Class of 2009

We ran around a yard that definitely rivaled the 1000 Acre Woods well into the evening when saw the first of fireflies flickering nearby. Chris is an amazing young man...totally after my own heart with his love of all things Godfather and Batman. We spent the early evening chatting about all kinds of movies and his plans for tech school after high school.

His parents are equally sweet and engaging. Ollie, the cat, what can I say about him. He's beautiful and if I wasn't allergic to cats I totally would have tried to snag him home with me. I particularly loved how he hammed it up for the camera as if to say, "look at me!"

Despite the craziness that it wedding season, I totally love to chillax with amazing families...watching their interaction with each other, capturing the emotions that run between them. These guys were awesome and it was my absolute pleasure to work with them.

Chris, all the best your senior year and the years following in tech school. I know that you'll succeed and look forward to hearing great things about you! Paul and Jackie...thank you for sharing your evening with me!

Enjoy my favorites from your session.

My Bubbles

Summer is notorious for just hanging outside. Our door ends up being a revolving door with kids constantly coming in and going out. One of our favorite outdoor activities is bubbles. Because really, who doesn't love soap, water and oxygen mixed together.

He's never really gotten the hang of it...til now. He's always been impatient in working the wand magic...til now. And I never really sat out there with him to walk him through it...til now.

But then, when it was time to go back inside...I got this...

Talking a good game

There are times, as parents, where we have to fake emotions in situations in order to teach our children to not live by our fears and prejudices. A couple of weeks ago was the perfect instance in our house.

I hate the dentist. He is not my friend. I would rather go through labor and delivery than visit the dentist. It's that simple. I cringe when I have to go. They have to drug me in order to relax. I just don't like it.

But...for Nico...the dentist is my best friend and he has all these good gadgets, like Batman, and he has a rocket chair AND...you get a present at the end! So, I bit my tounge at all my dental transgressions and walked the block and half, child and camera in hand, to the dentist for Nico's first visit.

He loved it and I cheered him on every step of the way. He has healthy teeth (probably due to the fact that he's the only kid on the planet that does not eat anything sugary), even has an extra tooth, no cavities, and does a great job brushing! The dentist praised him...and us...on a job well done. Ever since then...every 2 minutes we're off to brush our teeth with our new toothbrush.

I wonder how long this phase will last!?

10x10 of suede yummy goodness!

And while I am no product photographer, I just had to share it some images of it.

Sneaky Peeky

Hello Internet...and my poor neglected blog... sigh...

I could come up with a million reasons as to why I've negelected you...but the most valid one would be that I've been amazingly, insanely, busy. It's been non-stop for the past month and today I've decided that it's going to be a day for house cleaning, grocery shopping and blogging!

Below is a sneaky peeky into my life the past month...
